How entry is approached

If the key is gone or broken

Getting into the car is only half the job when the key itself is the problem. A new key can usually be cut and programmed on the same visit — see replacement car keys. Where nothing is left to copy, the job runs as lost car keys.

Proof of ownership

Identification and proof that the vehicle is yours are needed before work starts. That protects everybody.
